Playsilks
Our beautiful playsilks are hand-dyed (100% non-toxic and washable) by a very talented home-schooling mom (to five children!) in up-state Michigan.
Play silks are one of the most versatile elements of open-ended free play and can be used by your child to create any number of imagined spaces, such as Forts, and Puppet Theatres. They can also be used for end-less dress-up, or as colorful backdrops to seasonal nature tables.
Branch Block Building Sets
All of our Branch Block Building sets are lovingly selected, cut and sanded by an earth friendly couple raising a family, supporting a farm and living off the grid in up-state Vermont.
(Way to Go!!) Not only do these wonderfully natural branch building blocks smell like a forest, they are great to touch and beautiful to look at. They also come in a versatile hand crocheted carrying satchel.
*May not be suitable for younger ones who still like to taste their toys*
Play Clips
These are the ORIGINAL Waldorf-inspired Playclips as designed by William Bluhm out in Sunny California. I love these clips because they are so simple and so functional. They are easy to handle and fit comfortably into the hands of little ones while being substantial enough in size to ‘clip’ many different weights and materials. The natural un-finished wood smells really good too.
Push Toys
My daughter loves her waddling duck push toy so much; she has almost worn it out! We have a varied selection of push and pull toys for wee ones, but these ducks are handcrafted by Jerry Thorpe, a toy-maker who lives in Kitchener Ontario, Canada. His items are all classically old fashioned. Other items we have by Jerry include tractors, planes, train whistles and tongue drums (a rectangular wooden drum that you hit with a small mallet).
Bug Boxes
Aren’t these great? These handy little meshed carrying boxes are great for kids to discover and learn about the outdoors …while respecting all living things right to live…They are a great size and weight for the 6 and under crowd and can provide a comfortable temporary habitat for little creatures being analyzed by other little creatures.
Made By Me Toys
The “Made By Me” kits and “Little Scoots” come from Maple Landmark Woodcraft in Middlebury Vermont. They are a small family-run business promoting selective wood harvesting from within their own region, leading to a sustainable supply of materials and a healthy forest. The “Made By Me” kits are great for Birthday parties or kids craft days … every child can design their own individual toy that can be played with …again and again!
Felted Wool Play-Balls
These are a lot of fun and safe for indoor play. Great size for wee ones. Each ball has been re-purposed and wet-felted with wool purchased from a beautiful family farm located in the Western hills of Tennessee. The colors are striking and each one is unique! …Buy three and learn to juggle! …. Balls can be made to fit any child’s color palette …just ask…
Play Food
Beautiful hand crocheted ‘bunch o’ veggies’, from Natural Earth Family Farm and Fiber Studio. Pair them with a half-dozen of our lovely natural wood “Farm-Fresh” eggs for a culinary experience that will delight any youngster!
